Sometimes......

In this life sometimes it is important to move on. To cut the ties with people who are holding you back. Its not a bad thing really. Just remember this life is about progression of the soul not standing still. In the end would it be better to say you as the person you.... Did everything you could to be happy or you the person stood still and watched the world pass you by because of those people or things that held you back?

The Easter bunny ate some bad tacos....

The Easter bunny must of eaten some bad tacos last night from what i gather he pooped out over 10,000 eggs.... And those eggs were picked up by over a thousand kids in 64 seconds..... It was an amazing site. They almost beat the record of 58 seconds. Can you imagine 10,000 Easter eggs? I am thankful it was a beautiful day and Brooklyn acquired a hefty sum of eggs herself.

It saddens me to see this....

I have for some time been working on a project called, the broken stones project. I started it as a informational page online regarding cemeteries that have been found in disarray. Now however after investigating many a location i have found that the disarray goes beyond that. It is just plain disrespectful and disturbing. Here is a photo of a little cemetery found on Creek Road in Champlain, NY. Though i am uncertain of the name of this place many of the stones have the same family name. This pile of broken stones were found discarded off to the side on the embankment of a river. It upsets me because this is part of our history. These stones represent a person who was once here. Now their memory is discarded like trash. I will do what i can to push for reform and funding to create a trust of sorts to make sure that this never happens again. A cemetery is a place for memorial. Not just a dumping ground to be left important disarray. I understand that time has worn down these stones but to take them and throw them away is unacceptable.

The standoff.....

Yesterday after dinner myself, momma, and the little lady took a walk down along the river about a mile or so. We stopped to see the cows and horses and the little lady was very much interested in one of the steer. The steer was very much interested in the little lady and thus the stand off began. It was too cute as they both just stood there staring each other down. It was a really nice afternoon and Brooklyn met a cow. Lol.

Song of the day.....

The song of the day is..... She cranks my tractor. Good country diddy which happens to be stuck in my noggin at the moment.

The Good and the bad

I find that aside from all that goes on in a person's life there is one thing that usually always remains that same and that is their relationships. Be it friendly, comic, romantic, obscure, straight, gay, business or anything in between. We as people have to do what we have to do to maintain it. To take care of it. To nurture it and watch it grow.

Any good farmer will tell you it takes a lot to turn a seed into a thriving fruit producing plant. So is true in a relationship. I once planted a small garden in a less than easy spot in my yard to grow things. I had the best intentions but in time, and because I was doing other things. The garden started to become over run with weeds, vines, and plants that I did not want there and from time to time I would go out and pull the junk plants out and water my garden etc... but as time passed I got bored with it. It seemed like a whole lot of work with little results.

The same is true for relationships. if we don't water them, take care of them and pull out all of the things that hinder it's growth it soon will become over run with all sorts of things and for lack of a better word or wording it gets boring.

So what do we do about that? What fixes that problem?

A relationship is a two way street. It takes work from both to make it work. You have to be open to change. Are you? We all would like to think that we are changing and changed people from one relationship to the next but in all honesty people drag a lot of baggage with them from one relationship to the next. I call that baggage the "weeds". Those weeds will certainly start to grow around the seed of your new relationship if you don't get rid of them and in time the weeds will take over leaving that new relationship gasping for air and trying to survive but wanting to give up all at the same time.

I understand that at times it can be hard to start new and fresh but the reality is this, You can not enter a new relationship with a completely different person while bringing the same baggage and expecting different results. It's really not that hard people and if you are not willing to let go of that past relationship baggage and learn new things this new relationship will certainly end up as all the others.

Till next time my friends,

Spring has finally sprung

I can jot believe that spring is finally upon us here in the great white northern tundra. This winter was anything but mild. It was a wild and crazy ride with weather patterns that were very angry to say the least. The past few days have been really nice and hearing the birds chirping and the sun shining has been an amazing feeling. It has given me the chance to do a little cleaning from the early flood we had this year and though the flood was not major it still created some damage in my workshop. Now though that has all been taken care of and i am looking forward to spending some time in it crafting.

To the pigs we go

Myself and the little lady went and fed the neighbours pigs. It was a lot of fun and oddly for a child that is afraid of most everything she certainly loved those pigs. She told me she was going to take one home. I asked her how and she said in her pocket because pockets were made to hold things. I told her the pigs were too big for her pockets and then she said.... But bacon not. I laughed so hard. From there we went over to the old bridge and threw rocks in the water and after that she helped me do some spring cleaning outside. I love that little egg... She at times drives me nuts but then if she did not where would the fun be in that?

Happiness is.....

Happiness is.....

Knowing the app you just downloaded works and you don't have to fiddle with it to get it to work.

It's knowing you have electricity to brew your favorite coffee (unless you use a french press then life is always happy).

It's seeing the sun shine finally after a long and dark winter.

It's getting ready to stop posting random this, eat some breakfast, and to get dressed to go outside and take a walk with your 3 year old who is so very curious about life. (The neighbors up the road just got 3 new baby beef cattle, maybe we will walk up to see them).

It's being thankful for all your friends, and family because if they were not around who else would drive you crazy?

Till later my friends.

Droid app test

Just downloaded the content for my droid. This is a test.

Introducing the Sleeping Bear.....

Ode to the online blog. A place where we can all share relevant or completely irrelevant information, thoughts, ideas, and dreams to the masses.

I find that writing is the best form of therapy and considering I am a bit scattered from time to time what a better place to write down this mass array of scattered thoughts.

Today's topic I am uncertain of however you will be amused either way I am certain.

Yesterday, was my Birthday. I have lived to see 36 years and I was thinking I am old now. I mean when I was 35 I was not quite at the cusp of no return. I was still able to say I was in my 30's, now I have to say mid to late 30's and as great as that may be I have crossed over.

I remember turning 24. I went out a bought a set of golf clubs. Then I left them in the trunk of my Mustang and when I got divorced the damn clubs belonged to "her". It sucked. I had a special relationship with those golf clubs. They were my HOLY CRAP!!! Your almost 25 moment.

So, let's see. A little about me before we go any further so you can maybe better understand who I am and what I am about (though sometimes, I am still figuring what I am all about on a daily basis). I am a artistic person by nature which at times can be my worst enemy because sometimes us creative people have the best intentions but because our minds work at a different pitch and speed than others we often get tangled in our own webs. I find I am tangled from time to time but I would rather be tangled than not doing anything at all. Stagnation sucks big time and affords one the opportunity to sink into that crazy thing we call DEPRESSION.... dum dum dum (Looming music in the background).

I am a writer, as if you could not already tell. Speaking of writing, i always find it funny when you are reading something and the author tells you about themselves and starts of with something to the effect of (I am a writer, or i have been writing for...) I want to get their number, call them up, and say.....Well Obviously!! Otherwise I would not be reading what you wrote. I mean really, do they have to tell us they are writers as if we would not know?

I am also a music composer. Though, not real music as some might say. I make Electronic music. been doing it for a number of years and though I would love to say how many that would just hurt my own feelings and make me feel really old. However, i love it and people like what I do.

I am also, a jewelry designer. Owner of Sleeping Bear Designs in the great white Northern tundra that is Champlain, NY. I make simple yet beautiful gemstone jewelry and I sell them online, at shows, craft markets, and pretty much any place in between. (Which reminds me for some odd reason, I need to D/L the app for my Droid of this here blog so I can inform you all of my doings while I am out doing them). Just D/L the app it was pretty quick actually.

Let's see...... I am currently in college for my EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) certification. I have been a volunteer with our local EMS (Emergency Medical Service) here in our county. I love what I do but to be honest the classes are at times very mind numbing but, my instructors mix it up a bit between lectures and labs so our brains do not become mush. I have been with the department since July of 2012. I had been involved in this same thing back in the mid 1990's but I was young and dumb and did not stick with it for the enchanting world of Rave's...lol. Well, that is a whole different story on it's own.

I am a chain smoker at times (wishing to quit all together) and working on it. Not much of a drinker unless you consider coffee to fall into that category then, I could be considered a junkie. I love all coffee but as I have aged I have become very fond of the extra dark, bold, and deep thought provoking coffee's of the world. My favorite at this moment in life is an amazing brew that is so dark it looks like it was grown in or around lava rocks. it is called, Wide Awake and as my girlfriend calls it, it is 72 hour coffee.

Hmm, well i suppose I will end this introduction to me.

Thank you for reading.
